Principal and Director at Booth Hansen, George has been involved with the leadership and direction of the firm since 1995. During his tenure, the firm has been recognized as a Firm of the Year by the American Institute of Architects Chicago chapter and has won numerous awards. Recent award-winning projects include the Kohl Children’s Museum in Glenview, Illinois, and the LaSalle Bank Theatre, Cook County Circuit Courthouse, and Palmolive Builiding, all in Chicago, Illinois.
George’s experience includes a broad range of project types, including corporate headquarters, high-rise office buildings, educational facilities, financial institutions, multi-family and single-family housing, hotels, churches, and office interiors. While active in the design process, George has had considerable experience managing both large and small-scale projects. In addition to his project work, George’s responsibilities at Booth Hansen include overall staff management.
George joined Booth Hansen after working with Lohan Associates, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and Knight Architects. He attended the University of Illinois, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 and Master of Architecture in 1977. George is a member of the AIA, the Education Committee of the Urban Land Institute, and a former member of the Evanston Preservation Commission. He is a Registered Architect in Illinois and NCARB.
